The letter of intent on creating the Civil Aviation Personnel Training Centre.
On October 15, 2007, Jerzy Polaczek, the Minister of Transport, and Eugeniusz Wróbel, the Under-Secretary of the State, took part in a ceremony of setting a signature to the letter of intent on creating Civil Aviation Personnel Training Centre for Middle and East Europe, which took place in Silesian Voivodship Office in Katowice.
The letter was signed by Artur Tomasik, the President of the Board of GTL S.A., Grzegorz Kruszyński, the President of Civil Aviation Office, and Professor Wojciech Zieliński, Rector Magnificus of The Silesian University of Technology. The initiative of creating the Centre achieved the patronage of the Minister of Transport, and the support of the Civil Aviation Office.
The main task of the Centre is to organize and co-ordinate training of the personnel of civil aviation industry, by organizing postgraduate studies, full-time studies, cooperation with local technical colleges, organizing qualifying courses, internships and trainings for students and candidates for doctor’s degree, and participation in specialist projects and inland and EU programmes.
The Ministry of Transport is going to support the activities of the Centre, as the one of important elements of realization of “The programme of development of airfields network and aerial ground installations”
